Syarikat Perumahan Pegawai Kerajaan Sendirian Berhad (SPPK) was incorporated by the Minister of Finance ( Incorporated ) (MOF) on 29th. March, 1971 as a Housing Developer under the Companies Act 1965.
In 1984, Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) acquired 70% equity in the Company and MOF retained 30%. The company was run on a commercial basis.
 Between 1971 and 2004, SPPK developed more than 17,000 units of various types of residential homes in the states of Wilayah Persekutuan, Selangor, Perak, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan, Pahang, Johor and Negeri Sembilan. In Wilayah Persekutuan, the Company is synonymous with its development in the prestigious enclave of Bukit Damansara.
SPPK's current flagship developments are 42 acre high-end development called Seri Beringin and township in Cheras called Alam Damai which upon completion would have a population of about 25,000 residents. The other notable development in Wilayah Persekutuan is a high-end mixed development in Bukit Jalil which was first launched in January 2005.
The Company also owns a number of choice commercial buildings in Damansara Heights and a number of condominium units in the up-market Desa Damansara Heights which are all rented out.
Further to PNB's rationalisation exercise, on 1 November 2004. Island & Peninsular Berhad purchased the 70% equity in SPPK and become its major shareholder. MOF continues to hold a 30% equity stake.
